## In short

- COP31 runs from 9 to 20 November 2026 at the Antalya Expo Center.
- Expect high demand for hotels, transfers and event services in the Antalya region around those dates.
- Side events and receptions need early venue booking and realistic transport plans.
- Consider alternative dates or destinations if your event is not connected to the conference.

## Overview

In November 2026, Antalya will host COP31, the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The conference is scheduled from 9 to 20 November 2026 at the Antalya Expo Center. It is one of the largest international gatherings Türkiye has hosted, bringing government delegations, international organisations, businesses, media and civil society to the Turkish Riviera. For anyone planning corporate events in or near Antalya in the autumn of 2026, it is worth understanding what this means in practice.

To be clear: BravoDays is an independent event company and is not affiliated with the conference or its organisers. This article is practical guidance for planners, based on how large international events typically affect a destination.

### What a conference of this scale means for a destination

A COP brings tens of thousands of participants to a host city. Accredited delegates attend the official negotiating areas, while many other events take place in the surrounding region: receptions, business forums, side events, media activity and cultural programmes. In practical terms, planners should expect:

- **High demand for hotels** in Antalya, Belek, Lara and the surrounding coast during and around the conference dates, including in the days before it opens.

- **Pressure on ground transport**, with vehicles, drivers and guides in high demand and some roads affected by security arrangements.

- **Busier airports and flights**, particularly Antalya Airport, with arrival peaks before the opening and departure peaks after the close.

- **Heightened security** around the venue and official sites, which can affect access and timing.

### If your event is connected to COP31

Companies, associations and organisations often host side events, receptions or client dinners alongside a major conference. If that is your plan:

1. **Book venues as early as possible.** Suitable spaces near the conference area will be in high demand, and many hotels may already hold large blocks.

2. **Plan transport realistically.** Allow extra time for every movement, and consider venues reachable without crossing the busiest areas at peak hours.

3. **Check accreditation and access rules.** Official areas require accreditation managed by the UN; your guests' access depends on their own status, not on your booking.

4. **Prepare for last-minute changes.** Negotiation schedules often run late, and key speakers or guests may be delayed. Build flexibility into timings.

5. **Practise what you preach.** A climate conference side event will be judged on its own choices: local and plant-forward menus, minimal printed materials, sensible transport and honest communication.

Timing is now the critical factor. With the opening only weeks away, much of the large-format capacity near the conference area is likely to be committed already. Flexible formats can still work well: a private dining room in a hotel where your guests are staying, a restaurant taken over for an evening, or a smaller breakfast briefing early in the day, before negotiation sessions begin. Smaller and well-placed is usually better than large and hard to reach.

**Practical tip:** if you plan a reception or dinner during the conference, choose a venue within a short transfer of where your guests are staying, and schedule it after the main negotiation sessions usually finish. A brilliant venue is wasted if guests cannot get there in time.

### If your event is not connected to COP31

Many companies have retreats, incentive trips or meetings planned in the Antalya region in November simply because it is a pleasant time of year, with warm days and a quieter coast. If your event has nothing to do with the conference, consider your options carefully.

- **Shift dates:** moving an event to October or later in the year can avoid the peak in demand.

- **Change destination:** other coastal areas, such as Bodrum, Fethiye or the Izmir region, may offer similar weather with more availability.

- **Stay further away:** if Antalya is essential, resorts further from the city may be less affected, although transfers will be longer.

### A longer-term effect

Large international conferences often leave a lasting mark on a destination: improved infrastructure, more experience among local suppliers, and a stronger profile for business events. Antalya is already one of Türkiye's main destinations for large meetings and incentive groups, and hosting COP31 will add to that experience.

If you have an event planned in the Antalya region in autumn 2026, or are considering a side event, send us your dates and headcount. We will tell you honestly what availability looks like and suggest alternatives where they make more sense.
