## Overview

A guided walk through Bursa's old market district, tasting the city's famous İskender kebab, local cheeses, pide and candied chestnuts.

Bursa is the home of İskender kebab: thin slices of döner over pide bread, with tomato sauce, melted butter and yoghurt. This walk starts near the Grand Mosque and follows a local food guide through the covered bazaar and the busy market streets around it.

Along the way the group tastes İskender at a long-established kebab house, pide and local cheeses, Bursa's peach and fig specialities in season and kestane şekeri, the candied chestnuts the city is known for. Between stops your guide tells the story of the silk trade and the Ottoman hans. It works as a relaxed afternoon activity or as a light, informal lunch.
