## Overview

A speedboat trip to the protected Daymaniyat Islands for snorkelling over coral reefs, with a good chance of seeing turtles and reef fish.

The Daymaniyat Islands are a protected nature reserve off the coast west of Muscat, reached in roughly 45 minutes by speedboat from a marina near the airport. The water around the islands is clear, and the reefs are home to many species of reef fish and, often, sea turtles.

The boat stops at two or three snorkelling spots chosen on the day for conditions. Our marine guides brief the group, hand out masks, fins and life vests, and stay in the water with less confident swimmers.

Access to the reserve, and especially landing on the islands, is regulated and restricted in parts of the year to protect nesting birds and turtles. We confirm the current rules and permits when we book.
