We partner with a local marine conservation group that already runs regular clean-ups and monitoring on the coast. They choose the site, often a public beach or cove that hotel cleaners do not reach, and obtain the municipal permits.

After a short talk on marine litter and, in Belek and Fethiye, on the sea turtle nesting beaches, teams of eight are given gloves, bags and a tally sheet. Each team covers a marked section and sorts what it collects into plastics, glass, metal and fishing gear. The volunteers record the totals in the group's national database before the bags go to recycling.

The session ends with a short summary of what was collected and a cold drink in the shade. We avoid nesting areas in turtle season and schedule the morning slot in summer to stay out of the heat.
