Gümüşlük, on the western tip of the Bodrum peninsula, is built on the site of ancient Myndos. Parts of the old city walls and harbour lie under the shallow water of the bay, and traces of the ancient town can still be seen on the headland of Rabbit Island.

Your group boards a wooden gulet or sailing yacht in the late afternoon. The guide tells the story of Myndos as the boat passes Rabbit Island and heads out to sea for views of the Greek islands. Where conditions allow, there is a swim stop in a clear bay.

As the sun sets, cold drinks and meze are served on deck. The boat returns to Gümüşlük after dark, where the group can walk straight to dinner at one of the fish restaurants on the waterfront.
