A local chef welcomes the group with Omani coffee and dates and introduces the flavours of Omani home cooking: dried lime, local spice blends, rosewater and fresh herbs.
Teams then cook a full meal together, typically a spiced rice dish such as maqbous with chicken or lamb, thin Omani bread on a hot plate, a salad and a dessert. The chef moves between stations with tips and stories about family meals and festive dishes.
Everyone sits down together to eat what they have made, and guests receive the recipes by email afterwards. Vegetarian versions are easy to arrange.
