Galata night mystery walk

The story begins at the foot of Galata Tower: a merchant has disappeared, and he left a trail of letters across the old Genoese quarter. Teams receive the first letter, a lantern and a city map from 1880, and follow the clues down the Kamondo Steps, through the Bankalar Caddesi, into old passages off İstiklal Avenue and past the Galata Mevlevi Lodge.

Actors placed along the route play characters from the story — a bookseller, a ship's clerk, a fortune teller — and only give information to teams that ask the right questions. The streets are busy in the evening, and our marshals keep teams on safe routes and in contact by phone.

The final scene takes place on a rooftop terrace with views of the Golden Horn, where teams present their solution before dinner. It works well as the first evening of a programme in Istanbul.
