Perfume blending workshop

The perfumer sets up an organ of around forty essences on each table: citrus and bergamot, Isparta rose, jasmine, fig, cedar, vetiver, amber and oud. The session opens with how a perfume is built in three layers and how to smell without tiring the nose, with coffee beans to reset between samples.

Guests smell, take notes on test strips and build their formula drop by drop, with the perfumer and an assistant helping them balance it. Teams can work on a shared scent too: each person proposes one note and the team agrees on the final blend, which is a good exercise in negotiation.

Each guest leaves with a 50 ml bottle labelled with a name they choose, and a card with the formula so it can be reordered. The workshop works well on a hotel terrace before dinner or as a quieter option alongside a sports activity.
