Wadi Shab lies on the coast road between Muscat and Sur, around two hours' drive from the city. A small boat takes the group across the mouth of the wadi, and the walk begins between palm groves and high limestone walls.

The trail is rocky and uneven and takes about 45 minutes each way at an easy pace. At the end, guests can swim through a series of clear pools; strong swimmers can continue through a narrow gap to a cave with a small waterfall. Our guides set the pace for the group and stay with slower walkers.

The day includes a picnic lunch and can be combined with a stop at the Bimmah Sinkhole on the way back to Muscat.
