Bodrum Castle and Museum of Underwater Archaeology tour

The Castle of St Peter was built by the Knights Hospitaller in the 15th century on the harbour of Bodrum, using stones from the ruined Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. Today it houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, one of the most important of its kind.

A licensed guide takes the group through the towers and halls, telling the story of the knights from different European countries who built them. In the museum, the group sees finds from shipwrecks discovered off the Turkish coast, including the remains of ancient ships, glass, jewellery and one of the largest collections of amphorae in the world.

The tour ends on the castle walls with views over the marina and the old town. Opening hours and gallery access can change with ongoing restoration work, so we confirm the route before each tour.
